My new 406

Post by helston90 »

Just thought I'd post up a few pictures of the outside of my new 406 which I picked up a few weeks ago, inside still needs a good seeing to!

Feel free to make any comments on improvements/ thoughts, I know it's not perfect but what 9 year old car is?!

Looks very nice!

What's the paint code on that motor? It'll be a four letter code printed on a sticker on the A-Pillar on the driver's side (open the drivers' door and look where the hinge is). Examples of 406 blue paint codes are: KMWC (Monaco Blue), EGED (China Blue), KMDC (Samarkan Blue), KMPD (Delft Blue).

I thought it might have been China Blue (paint code EGED) at first but I had a second look and I'm thinking it's too light a blue and doesn't react to the light in the same way China Blue does. Possibly Monaco Blue?

Highlander- I'll have a look next time I remember and pop it up here, in her defence it was almost dusk when I took the photos as she does normally react to the light and have people comment on the slight colour change- just maybe not in the dark!

I was interested in finding out what it was anyway so thanks in advance for the codes.

Lozz- the towing eye cover is way up there on my list of things to do, it's such a small piece of irrelivant black plastic but throws off the whole look of the front! Argh.

and our survey says..... KMWC so Monaco Blue, although I guess just very shimmery as it does look almost greeny from certain angles! Weird but there's your answer!

Exactly the same as mine, even the wheels, but mines a 110. Its a particulary nice colour on a 406 I feel.

*looks at your signature* so it is, not many around in this colour- tend to see more silver ones but still good to see them about.

I was wanting a 110, especially after coming from a 1.8 petrol hatch but it was one of those must get a car today scenarios that led me to this one, does me well commuting to work and I fit my 9'8 longboard in, so ticks all my boxes.

Cool. Monaco Blue looks a lot like China Blue, but it's a bit lighter and is a metallic paint (China Blue is pearlescent)

Nice motor anyway. If you want more power, there's always the option of a remap (though I recall reading that this can only be done to the HDi 90 if it has a certain brand of ECU).
