Long time no updates

Its my birthday today (20 years old :() i thought i'd cheer myself up and use the autoglym set my parents got me for christmas. Borrowed my sisters jet wash and i couldn't believe how much dirt was left even after a jet wash.

Also i would happily recommend the two bucket method for washing a car, the dirt in the 2nd bucket was disgusting

Before

Imagine that layer all over the car

After (2 hours and some elbow grease)

Still quite a bit of grime left in crevasses but thats for a later day ha

Now looking for alloys as my front tyres are getting low and id much rather spend £100 more and get alloys than just 2 tyres on steels

Well i found this guide done by ddoherty406 the other day and decided to do it

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7519

Made a start today. I've never used fibreglass before so i did make some minor mistakes (too much fibreglass means a lot more sanding down later), still needs sanding down on the underneath and smoothing down on top.

Very rough still, needs to be evened out. Pleased with the start though

I plan to do the bumper and various other jobs when i get off in a week or so

I think it does look pretty good. If it doesn't look good in real life then i got a spare bumper and spare grille anyway
(nicked the photo from ddoherty406 hope you dont mind ha)

A little bit more sanding today. Reasonably happy with the results bit bulbous as you can see in the pictures but its only really visible if you're lying on the floor.

I plan to take this slowly. I usually rush into things and muck it up and i don't want to do that this time.

I reckon a little more sanding, then a bit more hardening paste will finish of the fibre glassing stage.

After that comes the filler to smooooth it off

The only way i could think off (i haven't seen a D9 grille close up so am not to sure on the technicalities) is get a spare one and cut out the combs and glue them together to form a complete grille. No idea whether that would work or not

I reckon a bit of sanding down tonight then another layer tommorow will set me in good stead. Im in Southampton for a long weekend at a friends so there wont be much progress 'til mid next week.
