Hello
Has anybody fitted a 4 sensor reversing kit to a 406 v Plate Saloon,I was wondering where the best installation position is and whether there are any no go areas as in wiring, brackets etc
If you have do you have any pictures.
Thanks
Mark

To help 'arfer' I don't think anyone of us has fitted reversing sensors so if arfer wants to have a go we'd be delighted to see his project.
You can buy these in kit form can't you?
(I must admit I have twice now 'kissed' front numberplates with my rear bumper and scuffed it

epecially mad as I had the bumper resprayed last year

)

A towbar's cheaper, easier to fit, and doesn't involve drilling huge holes in your bumper ;)
I'm never having a car without one again. Even if I make it rich, I'll have one fitted to my Ferrari

Yes apologies arfer, strayed into silliness there!

m, there is one down side to tow bars though.
If someone hits you up the rear the tow bar can bend the floor of the boot and write the car off instead of mashing the rear bumper crumply bit of zone even in a fairly light impact.

I'm getting visions of The A Team working on a 406 now

The only thing I've had so far in rear-end collisions (some of the incidents with tailgaters have been quite rough *ahem*) is smashed front bumpers and numberplates. My rear bumper's gotten a bit scratched when that happens but there's no noticable bending of anything on my car

If your lucky they right the car off, normally the stick on a new bumper, refuse to accept the car is bent and leave you with a knackered car!
Then there the mess it makes of your back as all the energy is transfered through the car to you with out the benefit of crumple zones etc

I'm staying out of the tow bar argument......
Could have done with a reversing sensor when I first got the saloon (following on from a Mondeo hatchback) because there was suddenly 3 feet of stuff past where I could see, then when I got the estate there was bugger all past where I could see so I was stopping 5 feet short of everything

. You soon get used to it though, no problems now
