Discuss the 406's Bodywork stuff in here (what parts fit what, what can be interchanged with what etc etc).

406 02 front bumper

Post by Ivan495 »

Hello everyone!

Just yesterday, I had a small accident with my car and it resulted in broken front bumper and a dent in the hood.

So, I have a few questions.

1. How hard is it to remove front bumper? Do i have to remove the headlights?
2. Does front bumper from caravan fits to sedan/limo version of 406?

Hi, welcome :cheesy:
The saloon (sedan) and estate (break) models have the same front bumper - the Coupé is different.
It's not too hard to remove....
Open the bonnet, remove the front grill.
Remove the headlights - 2 x 10mm bolts at the front, one 10mm bolt tucked down the side.
Remove the wheel arch liner - torx screws and press in clips.
Undo the 2 bolts between the side of the bumper and the wings, half turn the white bayonet clip by the headlights, undo the bolt under the bumper in the middle.
Undo the fog light connectors and slide the bumper forwards.
You only need 1 person to do it.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply.

I have one more question.

What is that black plastic thing that is right behind the bumper? It's between bumper and radiator fan and front grill snaps in it?

That also broke, I guess that doesn't come together with the bumper?
