fuel filler flap

my fuel filler cap is not opening when i pull the leaver inside the car but if i put something underneath the leaver get out the flap will open fine anyone else had this

new problem it rekons that the fuel fillier flap is open even when its closed any ideas.

The same thing has just happened to me the warning light and bleeper is coming on intermittently even though the filler cap is correctly closed, does anyone know the location and colour of the wiring to the filler so I can either cut them or short them out.

Just stopped being silly on its own, must have been damp.
