deadlocks
hi I am new here I have a 2000 406 hdi estate that I bought as an insurance write off in 2004 . the problem I have is the deadlocks on the rear doors have locked I have never had the key with the remote buttons . I am going to fit replacement doors if I don't connect the wiring to the locks will this disable the deadlocks .

Re: deadlocks
HI, welcome to the club.
You need to get the deadlocks de-activated before you can replace the doors - when my donor car deadlocked the rear doors I simply wound down the drivers window and reached in and locked the doors, then used the key in the lock and it worked. I'm not sure if this is your issue but persevere with fiddling with the locks from inside and outside and the doors may free themselves..??
Can you turn the drivers key twice to the right to de-activate? I can't remember.....

Re: deadlocks
I have tried to deactivate the deadlocks no luck so removed the door card and demolished the lock from inside . I will fit replacement doors . I just need to know if I can disable the deadlocks on the new doors . I am not bothered about the central locking .I just need to have doors that will open

Re: deadlocks
Ah, I'm not sure on an older 406, but the deadlocks can be disabled with PP2000, so the locks should behave normally, as far as I know.

Re: deadlocks
Sorry, PP2000 is the Peugeot diagnostic program that can be used on a home laptop with XP. Its the same one that the dealers use but some on here have the set-up for diagnostics.
It is a code reader, but can also enable/disable features as well as live data to see what could be wrong with the car.
