I have an 'oh so beautiful' 406 coupe, but have cracked the front bumper! The paint code has worn away under the bonnet and the Peugeot garage cant help so I can't get the correct paint! Can anyone help? It's a gorgeous light, sky-blue metallic colour. Anyone have the same car who can read their colour code for me?
I'd be ever-so grateful for the info so I can get my car dreamy looking again!

Help! Need a paint colour code

Re: Help! Need a paint colour code
There were a couple of blues used on the 406 coupé, so best make sure
The code *should* be on a sticker along with tyre pressures, either on the body where the driver's door hinge is, or on the outside edge of the door. It's also trivial to look it up from the car's VIN number, so it says a lot about the competence of this Peugeot garage

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Re: Help! Need a paint colour code
Thanks for advice so far, but I have identified all current stickers, labels and plates on doors, under bonnet and in boot and the one that WAS the paint code was a yellow painted stencil which has worn off on R/H side under bonnet (there is unreadable evidence just distinguishable). This was identified by the 'master technician' at the local Peugeot garage....he tried identifying the code wearing odd goggles using an ultra violet light but alas it's too worn!
The garage did also look up the code using the VIN number but it's not on the system. Being a 1999-2000 model must mean it's (unbelievably) too old so I was wondering if anyone else could help. I know there were two Peugeot blues for this model, mine is the light silvery blue. I can post a picture if anyone has the same car and can help.
It' s pretty frustrating and you're right, you'd think the Peugeot garage being the specialists could help, but I think specialist means something quite strange these days!

Re: Help! Need a paint colour code
I imagine it's Hyperion Blue, which is the only blue the 406 came in that I would describe as "Sky Blue":
2002 V6 SE Coupé (210bhp) - (Aegean Blue)
2002 D9 2.2 HDi Exec Estate - Samarkand Blue

There is a rather useful colour guide http://www.406coupeclub.org/Coupe_Colours.asp
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.
