Mirror Falling Out of Casing.

Discuss the 406's Bodywork stuff in here (what parts fit what, what can be interchanged with what etc etc).

Mirror Falling Out of Casing.

Post by ThePrisoner »

Anyone had a problem with their mirror falling out of its casing? It appears that retaining clip that keeps the actual mirror in the wing mirror housing has failed and the mirror hangs out when driving along, it is only being kept in by the electric wires.

Anyone else had this problem, and anyone know how much a new retaining clip from peugeot will cost?

Regards,

Pris. :cheesy:

peugeot are bastards when it comes to wing mirrors, you can only buy the complete mirror assembly, none of the parts are available seperatley, i would go to your nearest motorfactors and get a mirror glass as it will come with the metal clip

they've got to make money at the end of the day though, you'll find, manaufacturers that sell cheap parts (i.e. peugeot) often have a much more limited range to make you buy the more expensive bits, but manufacturers that sell expensive parts (like volvo) have a much greater range so less parts are sold, but still make a profit

BLOODY HELL!

The dealer fixed it for me without charging me for parts as part of my 60k service!

Result!
