What's under here and how do you remove it?

Discuss the 406's Bodywork stuff in here (what parts fit what, what can be interchanged with what etc etc).

What's under here and how do you remove it?

I am trying to trace exactly where the off-side rear ABS sensor cable leads to. Coming from the wheel hub it runs along the rear axle into at least the middle of the car - so is the plug end for the sensor under this cap thingy?

Anyone got pictures of what exactly is under here?
I found a bit of a lug thing that I managed to push in, turned it only a fraction but it doesn't want to lift up

Anyone? I am going to read the Haynes but wanted to see if any of you guys have had this off, done a rear abs sensor and can tell me what lies underneath this....................

Thank you :)

Oops, I just remembered yours is a petrol, so it'll be the fuel gauge sender.

I saw a diagram in Haynes, that thing in the middle is the end of the ABS sensor cable yes?
Will I have to drop the fuel tank to replace the abs sensor? Thanks

What? That thing in the middle is my lift pump  You still won't see a thing!

Let's see now, the off-side (that's the side away from the kerb yes? So right-hand) rear abs sensor. Umm, you looking to trace faults or replace it? Did you ever manage to suss your RPO? I'm looking at the full mux diagram and it says there's a connector right on the sensor itself, then it goes into cable 46HAB which goes over the fuel tank and then runs down the inside of the sill on the (erm) near-side, then across the car under the seats to the driver's side sill where it heads off to the dash and the only other connector is where it joins cable 10PR above the pedals.

I just noticed, there's your connector on the chassis - 2V GR (2 way grey).

Yep, right hand drivers side!
Looking at replacing it, have a new one ready and waiting.........
Did I ever suss my RPO? What's a mux diagram? Can I see this diagram? Sounds sooooooooo complicated.. I just need to find where the other end of the cable leads....... Confused a bit now....

UPDATE; Thanks for diagram............

It'd be pointless, the cable's on the other side of the car anyway.

Can hardly believe you don't have a split fold rear seat. It's not even like you have a basic model.. I can see electric rear windows.

He's right, us 7 seater estates don't have split rear seats......... A little surprised but with 5 child seats in constant use it's not as if I will only want half the space anyway...........
