towbar help

Post by 406lover »

not sure if i got this under the right topic. but im after some help with my towbar fitting.

i have taken the towbar or my s reg estate to put on to my r reg estate. when taken off the old car the 4 bolts (2 either side) where bolted in to something. but when coming to fit it to my new car this morning the four bolts have nothing to bolt in to. the holes are there but no nut or therd to go in to. when i took it off the old car i did not see any bolts that fell out.

i have had a look to see if i can fit some nuts behind but there is no gap to fit a nut in.

im not sure if there is something missing or does any one have any ideas on how i can over come this please.

If its anything like my towbar which i replaced last year, there are retangle shaped wedges with nuts built into them which slot inside the chassis that then allow you to bolt the towbar in.If that makes sence.

If the holes are next to each other then yes,the fixings go through the square holes, then the nuts should line up with the round holes and the towbar can be bolted on then.
