Hi mate,

you couid fit a d9 front bumper to d8
but itd be pointless, you wouid have to change the head lights and the grille bonnet wings etc
the d9 is facelift so the bumpers are made to fit with them headlights grille etc,

it might fit with some cutting or modding but its something iwouidnt bother trying,

just get a d8 (mk1) bumper less hastle,

Edit, youve got the d9 so just ignore the above,

no d8 bumper on d9 wouid be no good :(

i think even the bonnet have to be changed (is it called bonnet? the hood of the engine  )

if you are thinking of changing that, the lights, the bumper and bonnet must be replaced, becose of the lights.

You'd need to replace the bumper, the left and right wing panels, the side repeater indicators, the bonnet, the headlights, the fog lights, and the grill.

I suspect you'd also need to replace the slam panel (I think that's different between D8 and D9 but I'm not sure).

Also, because of the difference between the rub strips on the D8 and D9, you'd need to replace all the rub strips on both sides of the car, or it would look a bit odd where they change from the front door to the front wing. I'm not even sure the D8 and D9 rub strips are interchangeable.

If you want a D8 look, buy a D8. It'll probably be cheaper and easier to do.

In my opinion the D9 has a much more timeless design to it anyway. It really hasn't aged very badly despite the design being just about 13 years old. I find the D8 looks a bit more dated with the big thick black-plastic rub-strips and the slatted front grill off the older 405.

I was planning on smoothing anyway, but just preferred the layout of the grill/foglights on the earlier bumper, on the newer one the grill meets the foglights = nasty!

I was thinking about cutting the slats out of the grill then fibreglassing whats left to the bumper for a similar look, then getting some black honeycomb mesh back in the grill to match the upper grill for a smooth, clean look

Hi

A little late but i saw the threat and wanted to add that in order to change the fron look of the mk2 to the mk1 is a time consuming and money costing process

However i was wondering if the rear bumpers fit without any modifications

^Rear bumper would be bootlid and tail lights, the Mk2 tail lights stick out more than Mk1

Not 100% sure if you would need to change the bootlid but I would assume so as the look to be a different shape where the bumper and bootlid meet.
