yeah wet n dry on the Jb weld,
its liquidy so youl only need a little bit if its a small area, just cut down a old Top up card or store card or any crappy card,
use that as a spatuala,
put it on as smooth as you can, once it starts setting just put adab of water on it, you will find it wont need sanding if you wet it
on its final drying stage, ( RE: jbweld /its got to be Mixed as stated on the instructions or itwill take an Age to set, )

as for clearing off Rust grab one of them tiny wire brushes that goes on end of a drill it save you alot of time messing with sandpaper, ithink B&Q sell them or if your lucky they pop up as sets in the Poundlands,

ok cheers lozz.

i might just use body filler instead if the jb weld needs to be mixed correctly... also with it being winter it sets quickly i think

gary if i remmeber rightly you take the interior light out and the is a nut were the aerial is held undo that and the aerial will pop out when you put it back use some silocone sealer from the inside as well helps seal the aerial base to the roof

If you do end up cutting away metal you should put a little fiberglas behind it to support the filler. Otherwise the willer will crack and break through.
If it's just surface rust you should only use a tiny amount, bare in mind that bodyfiller needs to be set too!

im just gonna remove aerial. gaffer tape around the rust area so i get a clean square. sand it right back getting all the rust away. then dab on some KURUST. (filler if needs) prime it and paint . remove the gaffer tape once all dry
and fix aerial back with tigerseal ...

Better off with masking tape, really! You'll start peeling paint off otherwise.

Gary,

be careful removing the interior light, the plastics go brittle over time and crack very easily, have a go on your spares car first and if it comes out ok you'll have a spare if you need it :cheesy:
