from what ican see D8 rear lights wouid fit d9 but there wouid be gaps, :(
the D9 lights are slightly bigger

The D9 is designed to have a tad more volume in the boot
Thus I think D9 lights would fit a D8, but you'd need the boot for the lights to match the profile of the boot, and vica versa
Whether that means the profile of the bumper is also different to suit, I don't know

i looked into D9 lights fitting my D8.

and i had the impression they would not fit. but thinking about it again. the rear quaters seem the same ??

also the bumpers have the same fixing holes ??

and i bet the boot has the same fixing holes as well. :?

so maybe with a new boot. bumper and a set of lights it may work.

something to look at next time i'm in scrap yard. might even go tuesday morning cos it will bug me thinking about this now

the D8 boot at the bottom has flat sides . the D9s boot at the bottom is angled.

LOZZ NEXT TIME WE MEET WE WILL HAVE TO HAVE A LOOK AT YOURS. I KNOW EXACTLY WERE MY BOLTS ARE FOR BUMPER BOOT AND LIGHTS
SO IF A D9 IS THE SAME I DONT SEE WHY A REAR TRANSPLANT ISNT POSSIBLE 8)

THE REAR QUATERS ARE DEFINATELY THE SAME BY THE LOOKS OF IT ITS ONLY THE BUMPER AND BOOT THAT CHANGE SHAPES.
AND IF I REMEMBER RIGHTLY I GOT NEW BOLTS FOR MY BUMPER FROM A D9 AND THEY WAS ALL IN THE SAME PLACE

Like I said

The boot at the rear comes out to more to increase the internal volume by a fraction on the D9

Thus the edge on the quarter panel will be the same, but when it comes round the rear it will flare out more to meet the profile on the D9 boot
Same with the bumper - it will flare out more to meet the profile of both the boot and the lights

Thus you can't just fit the lights
You have to change the lights, boot, and bumper as a package

Think about it - Peugeot themselves did it with the D8 at the end of the run
I even contemplated it myself
If I hadn't paid for the front end respray and the colour coding of the bump strips, then i'd have D9'd my car front and rear
