I think mine were well bedded in because of the number of times I pulled away with the handbrake on. :)

Peter, the wife can do it & she's very petite, four clicks is enough.
Just to show you here's a photo taken today in the Isle of Wight on the way to the ferry :(

Just to point out that's a very steep hill & the wife & boys are in the car all so if you look very close between the car & van you can see the vans handbrake isn't on, when towing a caravan around the Isle of Wight you need a good handbrake  .
But to be fair you need a good handbrake to tow full stop  .

Its in gear  In my experience yours is exceptional, I have been involved with a number of 406s including three of my own and only one had what I would call an acceptable handbrake, my first one was practically useless even after I replaced the disc/drum, linings and pads and all three cables and adjusted it according to the book. What ever you have there I would bottle and sell it 8)

I had to replace the hbrake cable, the pads were ok, after that it pass the mot, but you still need to pull it right up...

Yep, that's what I've found, if I adjust it up just before I take it for MOT it usually passes - except the time when he broke the long cable trying to get a high enough reading. :x
