Hello! Goedenmiddag!

Post by Dutch406Guy »

Hello everyone!

Im a newbie, drive a Peugeot 406 station (see image) and am from the Netherlands. Im only a student, so taking care of the car is very much a case of "work with what you got". Im hoping to post some fun treads about some of the work I am doing to my car, as well as hoping to learn about the oily bits from this forum as the car breaches 200k KM.

Goedenavond & welcome aboard. 8)

As Steve says, your 406 looks very tidy.

>200,000km (or about 124k miles to us), would be seen as low mileage / nothing to worry about. 200k miles / 320,000km+ is very common.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Hi, welcome to the forum

Your car looks very smart. I ran hydropnumatic Citroens for about 30 years but they don't make them any more so for the last 5 years or so I have run 406 estates and a very nice car they are. Relatively cheap to buy and easy to maintain.

I have an Hdi on 245,000 miles and its never gone wrong until I let it get damp and it got into the electrics, still an ongoing project.

Plenty of knowledge and experience on here.

Tot ziens

Peter
