Greetings. New to 406 but not to Peugeot

Post by Odysseus »

Greetings. Just got a new (to me) 2002 406 GTX HDI 2.0L auto estate, and love it. In fact, I have not liked a car as much since the Volvo 740 GLE I had back in the late 1990s. I have signed onto PeugeotForums, but hope that folk with the same model will be able to introduce me to the specifics of this car.

I look forward to making your acquaintance.

Hi, welcome across to this more specialized forum - I've been here a while and although it is a little quiet of late, the knowledge here is excellent.

If you have some free time, check out the 'Knowledge Base' on the home page for guides etc.

It reminds me of all the stuff I liked about my old Volvo 740 GLE. It's incredibly comfortable to drive, and the various features just work. While I fancy I'm still young enough to own a small sports car, I like the stability, the solidity, and yet the manoeuvrability (especially in terms of turning radius) of the 406.

I could probably be more technical, but you'll have to give me a few more weeks to make a list. I tend to ride my bikes more than I drive.

Above all, I came to the 406 because I was told the diesel was an excellent engine. Otherwise I would never have thought about it. But I am very glad I did.
