Hi and welcome aboard. 8)

2.1's aren't my thing either, but there's a few members who have or have had them on here and I think at least one that' s done the conversion, so hopefully someone will be along shortly.....

It may also be possible to sort out the issues with your Epic - what's up with it?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

hi yeh i saw one thread where uberderv has done the bosch conversion actually he replied to me on another forum about it, the trouble with the lucas pump was struggling to start up hot or cold seems bit better when warm so i changed glow plugs hoping for easy fix but no so i took to peugeot dealers in ibiza cos thats where car was and they diagnosed the pump, i didnt mind paying the 60 euros cos at least i know i half suspected it anyway. how could i sort it out change seals or could it be more in depth

Yeah, that's what the Pug franchise in Zagreb here said about my 2.1. They were wrong. The fault was completely different, before you ask. Are there any diesel specialists where you are?

Welcome to the forum.

I ran 2.1's with Bosch mechanical pumps for over 15 years in Citroen XM's and never had one fail and a couple had done around 300,000 miles with not even a fuel leak. The problem now is finding one, I scrapped a couple a year or two ago which went with the pumps and I have just sold my last one with the pump. I think your best bet is to try and find a scrap one and take the pump off.

Hi steve-earwig yeh there r diesel specialists here but im reluctant to chuck another 50quid or so at it an get same answer tho it might not get same answer. There arent any fault codes or engine light on. I havent run it on veggie oil like i did the first one either

I didn't bother fitting it. I believe there is a plug on the side of the coolant distribution housing that you remove and screw the stat in. When I leave for work (5am) I don't let it sit at idle while I scrape ice etc.... Do it first then start up and go. You do get a lumpy idle for the first mins without it but its fine once its warmed up a bit.
