Hi there.
Bought my first Peugeot (406 2,0 HDI estate -04) about a week ago.
Although my Volvo 945 -93 had proven itself reliable, the fuel consumption was not its strong point. The Volvo got sold.
Started to look for a "new" car with better fuel mileage...
French cars sure seemed to give much value for money and are definitely beautiful.
There was (are) something about Peugeot that made me especially drawn to it.
The hunt for my new road companion was broad but had always a special eye for a 306 or a 406. A diesel car seemed interesting and the 406 HDI in particular.
Enjoyed riding my bike (Triumph Speed Triple 955) full time for a couple of month but it seemed time for a car on the driveway too.
And what do you know? A 406 2,0 HDI automatic estate 2004 with 180000km on the meter turned up for sale 600km away.
A short trip by train and I was a Peugeot owner for the first time.
My satisfaction level and mood was on top.
The trip home (highway) showed on a fuel consumption on 6,2 L/100km. Nice for a big car like this in my opinion.
The very next day, the weather offered heavy rain and my new 406-friend wet rear footwells. This of course clouded my mood. But after removing door panels it was clear that the water that comes in through the window trim flows on the inside of the door panel and not the inside of the door!? This I have to do something about soon.
There is where I stand right now.
Hoping for many km in this car (but primarely dry footwells).
See you!
(And for you Swedes, maybe on the roads)
Kindly
Andreas
