Hello all

Post by Uberderv »

Hi, I am off to collect my first 406td in a few hours. I have been driving Peugeots for the last couple of years with a brief spell in a Merc C250td. My current Peugeot 306 Xrdt decided to blow the head gasket on the Snakepass (A57) recently so I am going for something more luxurious as I do 80miles a day for work. I have been using WVO for many years, covering 1000's of miles and plan to use it in the 406.
Also have a 205 in the garage which I have fitted a 2.0L HDI engine into, progress on this is very slow but i am getting there........

Anyway hope i can be of some use to the forum :-)

Hi & welcome aboard. 8)

My bro ran his 1.9 on wvo with little hassle, (several fuel filters and an in-tank strainer clean or two). :supafrisk:

The 306 that preceded it had a habit of being towed home behind one of those complicated, unreliable HDi's.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Cheers :-)

Just back from Chesterfield with a 2.1td LX, very nice drive compared to the 306 although the 406 steering feels very light. Anyway plan is to fit the Bosch IP from my deceased 306 then enjoy some cheap motoring again.

Hi Richie,

It's so much more of a cruiser which is ideal for my commute. The HDI is a good engine but the savings from using WVO are not to be sniffed at. I just need to find the most up to date guide on fitting the Bosch pump to my semi ECU controlled engine :cheesy:

Cheers Doggy, ive noticed the last post in that thread was 4yrs ago so im hoping there is a more recent one around? Just concerned about the key pad immob and keeping ths rev counter working. My 406 is a P reg so I guess 96ish if that makes any difference.

RichieD yeah its great, wish id held out for an executive version but I didnt have time to wait for one to pop up. Still happy with the LX though.
