Hi Adam and welcome,

I believe some very early models had smaller wheels but your 98 should probably have 195/65/15 steelies. Is there any info in the drivers door shut ?

Hi and welcome to the club.

I don't think 14's are a problem, nice high profile so probably standard on an early one.

It is the law to put up pictures of your car here..... :cheesy:

Yes, 15's are a good all-rounder with lots of choice for genuine Peugeot wheels - 16's are a bit more limited in choice, dearer tyres but fill the arches nicely.....

Souldn't affect the speedo much, maybe by 5% or so ( 50mph on your speedo becomes 52.5mph in real life..)

If I were you I would stick with the 14" wheels as the high profile tyres give a better ride but if you want to drive fast by all means fit the larger ones. I prefer comfort to speed but then I'm old. :?

sorry i should have said i bought her in a very sorry state

so far fixed water leak from radiator
found she has some servere over spraying on wing and headlight will have to sand the run lines off the wing
a few knocks and bangs on bumps will investigate bushes
almost bald spare and just legal rear tyre
on a lighter note new cambelt, fresh oil , no rips in seating and no warning lights on dash

A bit unusual. By far the most common is 195/65/15. Like GM says, tyres for the 16s are relatively expensive.
Should be able to pick up 15" alloys for about £30 each... plus tyres

And there's nowt wrong with big squidgy tyres :D ... I have found

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

When tracking front end knocking noises your first check should be the drop links, 9 times out of 10 they're the culprit and simple enough to change with basic tools.
