LCD Panel for Radio & Information

Post by talker »

Hi All, I am a new member and have a 406 LX estate 110 HD (1999) 116,000+ miles. The problem I have is that my LCD panel light has gone out and I can't see the channel, date&time or outside temp on the panel, any ideas how this can be fixed? Much appreciated Walt :(

There are two types of display, is yours the one with two small buttons, or the one with the remote control?

If it's the former, there are just 3 bulbs in the back.

If it's the latter then it's more of an issue since the backlighting is provided by an array of surface mount LEDs.

Hi there thanks for getting back to me so quickly, it's the one with the two small buttons each side, hope that helps.

Flick the two small pieces of trim either side of the display out with a screwdriver, undo the 4 T20 Torx bolts and slide the display out. Remove the electrical connector.

There are three bulbs in the back, they're about 30p each from motor factors. I can get you the Peugeot part numbers if it helps, but any LMF should have them lying around since they're used on loads of PSA cars.

No problem, let me know if you have issues sourcing them but you should be fine. 8)

I used this;

and the bulbs were the same as I use in tractor dashboards!

Very helpful indeed, my displays now braw and bright!
