Here's the graph :cheesy:

Yep: it says 170 on the tin, and it's as it left the factory minus 6 years of wear. I think the 6-speed manual is supposed to only be good for 170hp (can't remember where I read this) which would explain why anything more powerful is only available with a slushmatic. Still, if a map can up the power and torque below 3500rpm say, then that's a big difference where you actually drive it, but hasn't increased the maximum.

I know the absolute number is a bit finger-in-the-wind, but I got the feeling this was a pretty good set-up. The Pugs all did well. The super tractor coupes were delivering over 160, and I think they would be faster than me off the line. It shows how impressive the super tractor treatment is and gives Peugeot something to be embarrassed about!

For me the star of the show was a T-plate D8.5 V6 coupe (the guy who works on the same business park as me) measuring exactly 194.

A Golf and a Vauxhall both gave disappointing results, and a 205 1.9 came out at 115.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

One crank this morning (forgot to press the clutch) and no noise... until I got to the bottom of the road and then there definitely was a clutch/flywheel noise (only in neutral) while I waited at the lights. Then at the next junction it had gone and didn't come back.

When the 406 clutch was going there was an intermittent squeal irrespective of whether the clutch was pressed.

Do I bite the bullet and get it done?

I am guessing jasper5 will be doing it? In that case, maybe as it will give you a piece of mind.

If it was me, I would wait and see if the noise worsened with time or the car became undrivable. It's not slipping or anything, is it?

Wait and see if the problems manifests itself in a more consistent way.

I'm guessing now that your car came up for sale because of the Heater problem more than anything else? if the owner got wind of the fact it was a dash-out job and was worried also about the cabin heating over this winter.......

He's not. The dealer had the dash out to do my heater flaps. So they'll be to do again in five years...

Here's my trip to work this morning.
Image

Looks like it adds 2% load to the particle filter.
The big spike just after the red line is setting off from the traffic lights facing uphill on the A340 outisde Basingstoke hospital. There are two lanes at the lights but one lane after them, and this is now a game I can win  although it's a bit naughty to do so with a cold engine.

The bit where the exhaust temperature goes from under 150 to over 200 is a short up-hill dual carriageway section. There's a roundabout at the end, where clearly I had to stop, then another dual carriageway. The lights at the bottom of the sliproad were on green but then I rolled to a stop at the hospital lights.
After that, there's an uphill pull, a dip, then a long downhill run with a 30 limit half way down it. I had to slow down for some idiot wanting to do 30 -- this is where the exhaust tempreature dips. Then it was back up to 50.

Pressure across the DPF clearly corresponds to air flow.
Exhaust temperature seems to correspond to speed.

 Since when has pp2000 been able to do that? I've always had to set it recording a parameter measurement page, then afterwards extract the XML data, parse it to a useful format and then graph it...

Well, as you can see, version 23.25 here.
It doesn't draw the graph live, it only shows max and min values while it's recording. You only get the graph when it's finished.

Wouldn't it be brilliant to do this up Prescott Hill? :cheesy:

Prefer my data.......

Airflow & Vehicle Speed - about the same
Differential Pressure - 0
PEF load % - 0
Cat downstream temp. - 752 C

That graphical ability does look handy though - is that still PP2k or does it have to be Diagbox with v 23.25?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

And the way back, with some different parameters.
New toy :cheesy:

Yep, it's Peugeot Planet. (I failed twice to install DiagBox.) Although I expect what's available depends on the car.

You can see near the end me getting pissed off at the traffic lights on the ring road.

Speaking of... have you remapped/deFAPped your 407 yet?
Isn't the EGR on our 7s purely electonically controlled? I.e., no vac? Do you think a blanking plate for a 2.0 would fit?

I caught the DPF regen on PP2k this morning.
Image

Took about 1.5 minutes to get up to temperature, then 9.5 to do the regen. Happened at the worst possible moment, as usual. (I have an LED to go into the mirror but haven't soldered it in yet.)

I know I said March for the defap, but the DMF is getting noisy (I knew it would be to do, but it's irritating that it needs doing straight away) and bills galore arrived at the start of the year  so the defap has moved down the list of priorities.
