Saying "Hello."

Post by BrianP »

As a new member I thought I should introduce myself.

I'm Brian from the coast of Cumbria (although I'm really an East Anglian in exile).

I've just bought a 52 plate Rapier and I hope it will be the start of a lot of happy motoring.

Although I drive Peugeots at work (our pool cars are 207s) my last car was a Rover. Previous Pugs are 504 and 405 estates and over a long motoring career I've owned more Citroens than anything else (16).

There's something about the comfort of French cars that takes a lot of beating.

Regards,

Brian.

Thanks for the welcomes.

I've certainly enjoyed pottering around the village in it today. It's a sound low mileage car (Only 65k so hardly even run in yet).
There's lots of good interesting info. on here by the look of it and I'm sure that I'll enjoy spending time delving back into the archive.

Yes, I thought I'd done well.

I've now done a decent run. 340 miles yesterday, a mix of motorway and A roads. She didn't miss a beat and averaged 47.1 mpg.

In my old Rover I'd have been lucky to average 24.

The only annoyance is the bleep on the stereo. I must get it re-coded!

65k is nothing, and quite rare for a 10 year old diesel. Good find.

I thought the D9 stereos were VIN coded?

Yes, I bought it from a friend of someone at work. I believe that the car was standing for 18 months which might explain the low mileage.

They are but this one has lost its coding, probably due to standing idle for 18 months. It needs to be reset with pp2000.
