Hi my name is Neil and im from Rugby. I have a long last got my dads old peugeot 406, its a 1997 estate in metallic red with the brilliant 2088 12v turbo diesel engine. I found this car for him way back in 2004 at Northampton car auctions, it had full dealer history with 135k on the clock. It now has 600 miles under 200k but its done more as the speedo did'nt work when we first got it. Its got to be said that it has been one of the best cars he has ever owned and one of the cheapest, its only had the normal bushes, cam belt, brakes etc in the 7 years he has had it. It still looks very tidy and drives very well, having had a few Peugeots over the years mostly 106s & 306s 406 Hdi and a lovely 406 v6. Sorry im a car dealer so ive had hundreds of cars in my 12 years of motoring, ive got to say that a 406s still drive well after very high mileage. It needs a little work now I think the N/S drop link is worn as it clunks a bit over the bumps and I think the clutch hyd system is starting to wear a bit.
