Depends on which engine you have, 1.9 TD Good, 2.1 TD Bad, (for SVO etc). 2.0 HDi Not at all!

My bro runs his 1.9 on about 60/70% WVO in warm weather, lower percentages in cooler periods and 100% diesel when it's snowy, (though others will recommend higher %'s of veg., but his starts to get harder to start / lumpy idling when cold beyond these amounts).

No, so long as you're not reselling fuel / using > 5000 litres/year.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

As Doggy said I try and fill mine with 30 litres of veg and 15 litres of diesel. In lovely weather like this you can't tell any difference unless you stand by the tail pipe.
Cold weather it hunts for about 30 seconds or so on that mix but I always try and leave it ticking over for at least that long to get the oil circulating anyway.
The tank willl take a lot more than 45 litres but I try and stick to that to monitor mpg's, 10 gallons gets me 370 miles of town driving. With the fuel gauge being more of a guide than an exact science I know if I put fuel in after 370 miles I 'SHOULDN'T' run out.
Note...my old GLX with aircon would do 340 miles on the same amount of fuel, real shame it died as I'm really missing the aircon at the minute!!!!
As also said customs don't care about personal use of veg oil but I wouldn't fill up on tesco's car park as you get some very funny looks :cheesy:

RN55ONE wrote:Hi All,

I am new to forum and are considering buying a 406 to run it on Veg Oil.

I do have a few questions that I would be grateful if could be answered:
1) Which is the best Diesel engine for the job?
2) Which trim level has the most amount of equipment? (I am guessing executive)?
3) How do I know if it has a Bosch pump? Was it introduced in a particular year?
4) Which year of 406 is it best to go for? (e.g. after the manufacturer made significant revisions/enhancements)?

Thanks in advance.
so have you sold the omega then?
