What do Great Britain's worst motorists drive?

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I hit "foreign drivers" 'cos that's all we've got here... Ok, it says Great Britain but they're pretty darn lousy and I can't imagine one lasting long on UK roads:
absolutely must overtake the car in front at all costs! - blind bends, brows of hills, cars stopped at pedestrian crossings*, oncoming Pug 406...
indicators are for wimps
oh, I see a friend, I don't suppose anyone would mind if I stop in the middle of this junction to have a chat
there's a car coming, I better pull out now
what's this big blue light on my dashboard for?
why does my tractor need lights? I can see fine!
ah, a narrow twisty road with lots of houses, time to put my foot down!
I can drive fine, I just can't walk, hic!!
*when I started driving here I used to get angry when I stopped at pedestrian crossing and the pedestrian looked at me as if I were mad. I moaned about it to my other half and she said it's because people often overtake there and she'd nearly gone to meet her maker this way. I've seen it happen a few times since.

And, on that note, I saw a VW parked in someone's front garden this morning just down from my girlfriends, this is indeed a narrow twisty road with lots of houses and I shudder to think how fast he/she must have been going on a wet road to demolish a fairly large pine tree.steve_earwig wrote:ah, a narrow twisty road with lots of houses, time to put my foot down

Re:
yep couldnt agree more f*cking taxi drivers round kirkcaldy/leven/dunfermline are the pits. As for the picasso drivers had a few of those but usually white van drivers but the new craze for me at the moment is bikers sitting an inch from my rear bumper or my wing mirror when im doing 50/60mph to the point i can see all the dirt marks on him, feel like hitting the b*st*rds when they pull along side knock them off their goddamn bikesBlue406 wrote:All of these annoy me! I chose Van drivers as the buggers seem to wait for me. I can see them pull up to the junction with the road I'm cruisng at 55-60 on, then wait till I'm 30 to 50 yards away before pulling out on me and proceeding to smoke their way to 35mph where they stay.
One particular, relatively new, annoyance is Citroen Picasso drivers. They ALWAYS hold you up and allways pull out on you and fail to keep up with the flow of traffic.
And Taxis... what's their problem?? If in front of you they insist on doing 20 in a 30 zone, 40 in a 60 zone and hogg to outside lane of a dual carriageway or motorway doing 50.
But when they are behind you, no matter how fast you'r going, their grille is firmly up your rear end.

I'm a very considerate biker
Actually, I was working up near St Pauls Cathedral just before Christmas, the scooter & couriers must use the force zipping through traffic, they are all psychos!

I've tried following dispatchers through the traffic in London, how long do you expect to live?
Me neither for the tailgating, it's usually cars that do it to me. In fact, it's best to hold back a bit because you stay clear of any erratic driving, can see more of your surroundings & you also have a wee run up for overtaking.
