How many miles does your 406 cover in a year?

I do about 17k.

I paid £5k for my 406 5 years ago. I've covered 85k miles and spent £7k on 6,672 litres of diesel.
Thats 1,467 galons.

The XUD 406 I had previously averaged 46mpg, so it would have only done 67.5k on that fuel.
To do 85k would take it 1847 galons, which would cost say £7k * 1,847 / 1,467 = £8.8k.

Call that a £2k saving, then I have to do a further 130k miles before I can justify the swap soley on the gounds of efficiency. At the current rate, that will take about 7 years and take me to 300k on the clock

So my new year's resolution will be to drive more :)

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I do 15k a year going to work & about 22k altogether. At my current average of 43 mpg, that's about £2,800 a year.
That's a fair bit worse than I got with the previous Xsara HDi 90, (typically 49.5 mpg), but it has twice the powah
I suspect rwb wears lighter shoes than me.

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

2k miles a month just to work and back. Factor in any shopping trips, or family visits/get togethers and that sharp starts adding up, so I've gone for 30k, but that's roughly what I do, could be more really. God knows what I spend on fuel but it works out at about £65 a week! I must admit, I am keeping half an eye open for something with LPG, and hopefully 4wd, i.e. Quattro, Forester, Legacy, etc.

I live in the middle of nowhere. Nearest village (Bellingham) is about 5 miles away, nearest decent sized town (Hexham) is 20 miles and nearest city (Newcastle) is 40 miles away. I use the same amount of fuel in 1 day going to work and back as you use in an entire week!

My 406 does 0 miles per week its been scrapped but the disco is putting in about 500 a week at the moment and at substantially less than 30mpg its a pricey truck to run, but no transport would mean no work so im spending about 350 zloty a week on fuel (£75 ish) and this cold weather isnt helping any i can tell you im down to about 18mpg at the moment

I did a regular 6K for a while, then a year at about 20, now I'm back down below 10. She'll celebrate her 9th birthday in January and we're only now approaching a total of 75K. Also got a huge contract next year about half a mile from the house so won't be doing too many miles

Bought mine in Feb 2009 at 61k. It's now at 99k.

I used to do far more driving when I lived in London but worked in Bristol, so that was a weekly mileage of around 500 miles. Nowadays, I work from home for the same company so it doesn't get used as much. In fact, it's completely covered in snow now and I need to drive to Dorset tomorrow - shovels out!

About 2k I'd say but that's probably a little optimistic.

thats £500 down. That we buy any car valuation is a joke. Not only that but who actually dislikes the whole process of selling a car.

Me

I've loved every car I've ever had; it's unpleasant to let go of 'em. My old saloon is still sat outside my house, but I've decided to get replacement panels from eBay and then sell her on to someone else who'll love her.
