How to bypass the ecu on on electric seats.

Post by madbaggie28 »

when you look at the seat from underneath you will see a orange plug and a white one take the wires out of both of these plugs then pop out the switch on the side of the seat you will there are 2 copper contacts with no wires going to them (if you look at the passenger seat switch you will see which ones) you need to solder one wire onto each of the contacts and thred them through the hole in the foam through to the underneath.
the wires from the orange plug go to each motor if your seat is the same as mine each wire will have a code printed on it.
GLI + BLACK WIRE
PAR+ BLACK WIRE
INC+ BLACK WIRE
DOS-BLACK WIRE
GLI-RED WIRE
PAR- RED WIRE
INC- RED WIRE
DOS+ RED WIRE
The GLI WIRES ARE FOR THE MOTOR THAT MOVES THE SEAT BACK AND FORWARD
THE PAR WIRES ARE FOR THE MOTOR THAT MOVES THE FRONT TILT ON THE BOTTOM
THE INC WIRES ARE FOR THE MOTOR THAT MOVES THE BACK TILT ON THE BOTTOM
THE DOS WIRES ARE FOR THE MOTOR THAT MOVES THE BACK REST
Now we know which wires do what for the motors now onto the white plug there are more wires in this plug but you dont need all of them you only need 10 of them they are as follows
2 red wires
1 green and yellow wire
1 white and pink wire
1 green wire
1 grey wire
1 white wire
1 blue wire
1 black wire
1 yellow wire
8 of these wires go to the 8 wires from the orange plug they go together as follows
red IND wire from orange plug to the green and yellow wire from the white plug
black INC wire from orange plug to the white and pink wire from the white plug
red GLI wire from orange plug to the green wire from the white plug
black GLI wire from orange plug to the grey wire from the white plug
red DOS wire from orange plug to the white wire from the white plug
black DOS wire from the orange plug to the blue wire from the white plug
red PAR wire from the orange plug to the black wire from the white plug
black PAR wire from the orange plug to the yellow wire from the white plug
you should be left with 2 red wires and the 2 wires you soldered on to the switch these are the live and earth feed for the seat and go to the live and earth you have supplied from the seat (i used the fag lighter)
the 2 red wires from the white plug go to your +ve feed from your supplied live and earth
the 2 wires you soldered onto the switch go to your -ve feed from your supplied live and earth
once you have done all that the seat should be working fully (if it is the same as mine i would recommend a trial run before fixing the seat in hope this post helps any one who is doing this if you have any problems get back to me and thanks to hdi andy i have a wiring diagram that i can e mail to you
