Temp reading on multifunction display is wrong!

Post by tempragolf »

Hi. 2.0 petrol V reg saloon. The temp display on my multifucntion display is suddenly wrong. When the outside temp was around plus 2 degrees yesterday it displayed minus 5 degrees. Also, I noticed that it seems to be using a lot more petrol than usual. Any link here?? I had a new cat (front end exhaust) fitted 3 days ago and have noticed this display thing has only happened since then. Any link here or coincidence maybe? Where is the sensor for the temp display on the multifucntion display? Any help would be much appreciated folks.

The temp sensor is in the base of the passenger wing mirror, we've had a few go wrong recently.
Fairly easy fix, get replacement from stealers and solder onto existing leads. This won't be affecting your fuel consumption though, weird co-incidence? :?

Thanks for that advice. I'm not too worried about an incorrect reading then if it doesn't affect my mpg figures.
