Same problem with my second D9 when i first got it. Teamster is right, But if you don't feel like splashing out on a new cable, you can re-route the existing one over the engine (instead of behind it) and leave it sitting in top of the engine. A penny to a pound that the problem area is where the cable comes out of the firewall and turns 90 degrees towards the throttle body. If you can make the turn at another point in the cable, that should solve your problem.

Well I've no complaints after 11 months anyway 8)

I wonder why they still have a cable go to the engine rather having having a throttle pot by the pedal itself. It's all fly by wire these days anyway

good point. was thinking that recently but came to the conclusion that the old xu engines had the manual throttle body so perhaps it wasn't possible to make the new ones have the pot by the accelerator without making major modifications to the space around it

Because servos powerful and accurate enough to open and close the throttle as fast as your foot can move the pedal are damn expensive, then there's the R&D required for the controller circuit etc and it just isn't cost effective when a 50p bit of braided cable in an armoured sleeve will do the job better :)

Unless you're talking diesels, in which case I'm under the impression they don't have throttles so seems crazy of peugeot to do that. I'm pretty sure modern diesels are literally just a spring-loaded pedal attached to a pot though
