My discs look close to being worn out, can anyone recomend some upgraded discs, i'm not talking 6 pots with dustbin lid sized discs, just an increase in stopping power.
I had some Brembo high carbon discs, greenstuff pads and stainless steel hoses on my old clio 172 and they were incredibly good, does anyone know of any good discs/pads for the 406?
its a 2.0 TD with ABS by the way
Cheers
Matt.

I do believe some of the coupes and V6s had brembos with bigger discs, but you'd need to change to wheels too for clearance.
Someone else will know more I'm sure

Just the V6 coupe - they weren't fitted to the saloon/estate. You need the coupe's 16" wheels too as the increased size of the calipers means the 15"ers won't fit. They also have a bad problem with squealing.

i have changed my Lucas brakes to brembos, for conversion you need: brembo calipers, discs from 3.0 v6 and bigger alloys. Cause on v6 they are 16 inch with ET15

that sounds like more modification than i really want do, dont any suppliers just do better quality discs and pads that will fit straight on?
no probs if not i can stick with standard, just thought i'd look into it seeing as they'll need to be replaced soon.

Oh sorry fella, that was me not reading your original post properly....
A quick google shows that EBC do
drilled and grooved discs and
Greenstuff pads. I'm sure there'll be others...

I can recomend the Black Diamond Discs and Pads. I've got 2 D9 V6s, one with the OE discs and pads and one with groove/drilled discs and the predator pads, the BD parts take a bit of warming up but the difference is very noticable and I'll be upgrading the OE parts soon on the 2nd one!
