Thanks Jasper, but I don't understand. What do you classify as the bottom shelf, the lower spring perch on the strut body , or....?

Thanks

Bottom shelf on the strut...where the bottom of the spring fits.

If you fix a couple of blocks of wood between the bottom spring mounting and the inner wing (top spring mounting) you will be able to move the car....shouldn't be too much of a problem if you have cut out the spring.
If you haven't yet cut out the spring you should be able to move the car if the spring isn't fouling anything....from experience the tyre is the thing that gets fouled when the coil spring breaks, along with the abs sensor, cv boot and brake hose, but as long as yours are ok and there is no fouling of the tyre you should be able to move the car...if you have already removed the spring then jack up the car and fit the blocks.

Now I understand, many thanks Jasper.
