Thought I'd show you all this months repairs and maintenance to keep my 1999 HDi on the road
All caried out by my independant garage
First up the new boots..
The new discs and pads... Handbrake serviced, calipers cleaned and lubricated to prevent sticking.... Err, cheers... The knackered engine mount... This was *really* easy to bend like this... The new rear mount in position, bottom of suspension leg has to come off, driveshaft out, gearbox oil etc to fit this The knackered down pipe+cat because of the engine movement.. Bit of a kink in there... Ewwww... Noisey, smelly, MOT failure... Shiney new CAT.... Then this bit fell off... That's better, Pea-shooter anyone?.... This lower intercooler pipe blew because of excess engine movement, this is the new one..... Old EGR stuck open, leaking, poor performance and smoke... Shiney new EGR..... Manky old coolant.... Lovely new flush and greeeeeeen......
Oh and new oil and filter and fuel filter too
Thanks for reading

Been there, had exactly the same failure on mine. Washing it one day, hmm that tail pipe doesn't quite look right.... (presume its had the middle section already?)
I think you've pretty much changed most things that could need doing. Painful now, but when you've (hopefully) not done more than service it for the next few years the smile will be back on your face!
The back box was all wobbly and the tail pipe was touching the plastic bumper so I yanked it off! funnily enough the car sounded no different really without a back box
Also strangely my power seems to be creeping back too despite my recent fears, fingers crossed....

Unfortunately if you want a new flexi pipe on the HDi you to have to have a new CAT too - the whole lot comes in one big expensive bit. The welding you can see is the manufacturers; unlike other CAT's which are flanged
