Much Pleasedness - warped disks

Swapped off the warped (TBH I'm not sure how warped they actually were) front disks for new Brembos the other day. FWIW I managed to get my hands on a set for £34 +VAT by ringing around the local motor factors. I was quoting GSF's website price of £25, not realising that GSF are the only people in the world to sell disks singly
From what I can remember, you need a T55 bit for the caliper carriers and 13mm and 17mm spanners for the caliper slider bolts. And a rattle gun is nice and handy when you're taking it apart for the third time
A 3 foot breaker bar is nice if you're taking it off for the first time. OTOH I can recommend sealey 3/8th socket sets as they stand up well to being abused by the attachment of 2 foot of jack handle.
The driver's front disc was catching on every rotation. Took it off and cleaned the hub what I thought was stupidly thoroughly with a wire brush. Reassembled it all and checked how it span, and it was still catching. Took it all to bits again, and had a brainwave. Only one side of the car was off the ground, so I started it up and stuck it in second. Hey presto, all I had to do was hold a bit of wet and dry to the hub. Pretty quickly I'd got most of the hub back to good clean metal, so I turned it off and did the last couple of bits. Reassembled the lot again and it's running perfect now, absolutely no binding anywhere.
I also found out that all the tyres were 3 PSI down, so I topped them up. End result is that MPG for cruising up and down the motorway has jumped from 42mpg to 47!
