Defo service every 7,000 miles, the service intervals these days take the mickey and are just so people don't get put off with servicing costs.

I brought the car with 89k on it and full service history... ex rep car ! ! ! Oh and I service it every 2 - 3k miles.. want to keep the internals clean and as fresh as possible ! !

85000 s reg d8 1.8 petrol serviced every 7000miles longish runs reguarly and also 7000rpm blow outs now and again it still purls like a kitten but it did 82000 miles on motorways so long distance cruising 99% of its life

As for high mileage, I run a fleet of coaches of different types. We think high mileage is once it has done over one million miles, of which I have several on their original mechanicals. Nothing more than the clutches have been changed.

'98 406 lx, 1.8 petrol.....

having a few power related probs at the moment though!
my mechanic says it could be the mass air flow meter, will check when he gets his
new diagnostics computer....

jus fitted a new core pack...
engine is mechanically perfect
still the same '98 406 lx, 1.8 petrol
now i've got 221500 miles on it...jus taken a picture on my phone..not sure how to post it on here...

my speedo lights are out, but u can still see the revmeter and the milage clearly!

Full service History (...& I do mean full, Fully stamped Peugeot bookelt + a complete folder of ever job/reciept since new all in date order upto the present day - Which, is worth a lot. )

I used to change the oil/filter about every 6000 miles. I don't do it anymore as the mechanic said its overkill. One thing i do use is the forte diesel conditioner which is specifically designed for common rail/hdi engines. This is what most of the garages use even when you put the motor in for a service even if they don't tell you. Does the same sort of thing as the millers. Its trade only but some motor factors stock it if you know where to look. After the front suspension spring snapping last week i think the rear suspension might be worth a look at next year makes you think a bit. Still having trouble cracking the lower balljoint
even after using the hammer on it after seems to be welded!

133k- HDI (110), ive tried Shell V-Power, in it, but didnt make any difference! Normal Diesel does me fine.

I fount that with the local equivelant here, bo difference on the HDi. Different storyx on the td tho.

Shell V-power doesn't seem to give any more power, but it does keep emissions clean along with the combustion chambers and associated parts. A clean engine will give more power. Shell V-power also seems to make the engine more noisy.

mine has got 138 tho its a 02 2.0 hdi diesel executive it runs likr a dream no oil no smoke its sweet cummin up for next service and belt change i wudnt change anythin on it only the wheels i put 17s on it and am well pleased
