Car, 118000 miles, engine 92000 miles (apparently). Gets serviced every 5000 miles. All filters, fully synthetic oil, wynns engine flush and sometimes some Millers in the tank. Smooth and fast, thankyou very much!
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!

HI,
Done just under 450,000 (yes 450k) on an S plate 1.9 lx td.
Bought from peugeot contact hire in Jan 02 at 164k with full history.
In fairness its been serviced to death and no expense spared as its my daily earner.
The original engine threw a rod through the side of the block at 250k when a piston crown separated from its bottom half.
Prior to that it was perfect using no oil or water and pulling smoothly. We transferred all the ancilliaries during the rebuild to alow mileage 306 engine, so the turbo, fuel pump and injectors aircon pump etc are 450k old.
However its still on its original gearbox and second clutch only and original wheel bearings.
Everything else has probably been replaced a few times such as tensioners, alternator, batteries, and millions of rear links and balljoints! But strangely enough no rear bushes......only links.
Had to do the Awful metal pipes that connect the rad with the rear of the engine last week.

STILL drives brilliantly.

2003 pug 406 110hp with 84,000 miles on it. Ex company car, owned by Greggs the bakers from new till 1 week ago when i bought it. Has been maintained regardless of cost.
Ive also got a 2001 vectra 2 litre dti which has just clocked 230,000 miles and thats still on its original engine, box and clutch. Most of the mileage has been motorway miles, Newcastle to Ely to London and back regular and still going strong.

My 406 1.9TD is on an R plate. I purchased it with 75k on the clock to replace my 1990 Toyota Celica GT4 which had covered over 164,000. The Pug came with no service history so I changed the cambelt immediately and also changed it again at about 130,000. The oil and filter has been changed every 5-7k and I have to say, despite the lack of power, the 406 is a great machine. It's had a few hundred litres of used cooking oil through the engine and still runs great at pushing on for 150,000 miles (most of my driving is done on the motorway averaging 70-80 mph). Just recently though, I've encountered a problem with the engine temp - goes up to 100oC in normal conditions plus the heater fan doesn't blow hot air out. The radiator is also leaking - possibly this was damaged when I collided with a traffic cone at 70mph a few months back!!!!!

I'm quite keen to see just how many miles I can do in the 406, 250,000 should be easy!

How much       I paid around £260 for all of the above Water pump, cambelt plus tensioner kit and geniune peugeot antifreeze. I would suggest looking at a decent local garage. Look at garages in the good garage scheme in your local area.

I got my 406 in November 08. It's a 1999 face-lift model LX 1.8 petrol - it had only done 29,400 miles! Used to belong to Britannia Insurance and was registered to a guy in Glasgow.

It's now at 31,400 miles, as I've driven it from Aberdeen to Thurso and back, from Aberdeen to Inverness and back, from Aberdeen to Dundee and back, and back and forth from my house to work daily (14 mile round trip) ever since.

Oh yeah, and aside from being really dirty right now, it's practically in showroom condition :)

Waiting for Halfords to receive the fascia and wiring harness for my new bluetooth-enabled CD player, hopefully that will arrive on Friday. This will be the only modification I've made to the car so far.
