Hi all and thanks for an informative forum.

I am having a problem with my 1997 exec turbo , the engine management light comes on when its warmed up mainly.
I had this checked out and it is giving the error codes 247 (Turbo boost controller)..cant seem to find any split pipes anywhere and have checked the resistance of the controller (29 ohms) but it does not seem to have any resistance at all. Would that point to a fault with the controller? and how much are they from the main stealer?

Cheers.

Quite possible the amal valves commonly fail, i ditched mine for a vw one (although i have aftermarket ecu so its easy swap for me). might be worth checking the compatability of vw/saab/vauxhall ones with the stock ecu if the resistance is the same/close i cant see any reason why they would not work since the pug ones are quite problematic.

Thanks for the reply, I will see if I can find an amal valve off another make of car and try it out..My impreza has a similar type of unit on the o/s inner wing..Might try that out 1st.

Cheers.
