Engine type

I'm going to fit some new injectors to try and rid the motor of that clattering between 1500 and 3200 RPM. It also seems to affect power until nearer 3000 RPM then it goes like stink.

How do I find out which variant of engine I've got?
They ask for a code of three letters but I'm not sure where to find that.

It's a 2.0 hdi 2003 110 BHP

Also, what do they mean when they say the injectors so not need coding?
Any help would be gratefully received.

Have a look at your vin number by the windscreen.

There is a breakdown somewhere about what the mixture of letters and numbers signify.

Basically there are 2 Hdi variants, one is the RHY, one is the RHZ ( I forget which is which but its in the vin number )

The injectors don't need coding on the Hdi, unlike other manufacturers.

I've also read that the injectors from a 307 110hdi are better and quieter than the ones from a 406.

Liberally soak the outside of the injectors with a lubricant for a couple of days before you try to remove them as they can be pretty stuck.

110 is RHZ. It won't make any difference to the power delivery at 3,200rpm, that's mapping. I presume you've seen this viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12408&p=110233&hilit=noisy#p110233

vin number will have rhy or rhz in it. If it has an inter cooler it is likely rhz.

wrt coding... pp2000 does allow coding. I discovered this when I was trying to cure surging/idling in my 2003 hdi. The injectors do have coding info on the black plastic cap. Found this info on some bosch website. I used this to recode mine from being not aligned to what I remember as being something like 1/a/x option. It cured my issues. I did check by recoding back to not aligned and issues returned. Option for recoding is under engine option in pp2000.

I never knew that..!
I'll spark up PP2K later and see if I can ruin, er, I mean 'improve' my cars running...

Thanks for that guys.
The PP2000 is that something I can get over the counter?
Would it be worth trying to code it or doing the adjustments mentioned?
Basically, I had a head gasket done 2019 and had to have 1 new injector, I think the clattering started then, so I'm going to now but 1 new injector, not a recon (note comment re tip only being reconned) and replace it to see if it improves.
However, I'll have the engine run at 2000 RPM and do the stethoscope test to see if I can discern any clattering.

As far as I remember, there are 2 or 3 classes of injectors, but there's only one settable parameter/code for all injectors. Recommendation is to set it to suit the 'majority' if they're not all the same code.

The codes are used to denote different flow rates and allow a 'set' to be more closely matched than would otherwise be the case, (or if you're cynical like me, to allow more borderline units to be passed as OK). A set with similar characteristics means the ecu can apply smaller individual correction factors to even things out.

You can't buy new injectors - they are reconditioned by Bosch.

Do you think if I bought a PP2000 I could align the new injector? It might be the reason its clattering

PP2000 usually refer to a combination of tool and software which is used to communicate with various systems within Peugeot vehicles. Usually you can buy them from aliexpress. But in my opinion I wouldn't buy it unless you are pretty good with computer in general as the installation is prone to failure (although other member might disagree about this  )
