Head gasket repair

Well, my low coolant light came on a few weeks ago. I've had the car 2.0 hdi lx estate since June 2017. No loss at all until now.
Spitting coolant out of the header tank and hissing coming through when stopped, not to mention under pressure when cold. Classic signs to me!
Although I want to do a proper job and do the cam belt at the same time: perhaps about £500 plus?
However, I've found d this on tinterweb:
K-Seal Ultimate Head Gasket Repair 472ml
Does anyone know anything of it?
It guarantees a complete fix for the life of the engine.
Says it also does cracked heads, porous engines too.
Any comments gratefully received.

I used it successfully on several cars of my own 10+ years ago. At the time it was well known in the motor trade,
but almost unknown to retail customers. I set up a website, and over several years up to 2014, sold about 4,000 bottles.

1. I never ever received any complaints about it blocking up water galleries, or radiators.

2. It doesn't work if oil is leaking through into the coolant. And it doesn't work if coolant is getting into the oil.
If I recall correctly, the manufacturer clearly states this.

3. The guarantee was a bit carefully worded. As I recall, what it means is that IF the product
makes a repair, then that repair is guaranteed to be permanent.   Digging deeper into the manufacturers blurb at the time, they
claimed an 80% success rate in making a repair. I'd say it was about 70% . Of all the thousands of bottles that I sold, I received
very few complaints. Most people who bought from me, and made a comment, tended to be of the view that for £10,
it was worth a try.

It's never worked for me & I have stupidly forked out for it twice
It can't fix a combustion leak between cylinders which is what happens most of the time.

Spend your tenner & then curse the removeal of the stuff when you have to rebuild it properly,.

See my post's on the subject.

Ta for that advice. I'm going to have it done properly. I know it'll be costly, and the motor isn't worth much but I could spend another £1500 and still buy a bag of problems.
Better the devil you know I think. Anyway it's a nice comfy lugger with 10 months mot still to run, and two new Michelin x climate front tyres so I might as well throw some more dosh at it.

Yes, depends how bad the leak is, if there is a bit of gasket missing, no it wont work, on yours it sounds as though there is. The other possibility is a cracked head, although that is only likely if it has already boiled. There should be plenty of heads about anyway.

Head skimmed, new cambelt, water pump and 1 injector.
Running sweet. Owes me about £450 but got my motor back.

That's not a bad price to be fair - given the amount of work involved :cheesy:

Nice to see you've saved your car.
