I don't think there should be any damage but I'm not sure.

I seem to remember there are both types fitted to the 307...a combined dpf and cat and a dpf only....couldn't say which one is fitted to this 307.

You should see your doctor about that.

I think the general idea is to disconnect the exhaust from the blockage as Jasper says, and try to start it.

If you try starts with the aid of easystart then quickly turn it off again if it catches, I don't think this is a good idea as the back pressure might cause other leaks around the turbo/eggsauce/egr/head etc.

Well a quick update :oops:
A few days after my last post my friend got the car started, purely by chance as she was getting some important things out of the car and thought she would give it a go - bloody thing fired straight up..
It's been fine ever since, so maybe there was a bad connection on a sensor for the FAP, dunno really.

All good though for now, until the next issue..
