Good day,
Wonder if ant of you have come across this problem before,

Car starts and drives perfectly,accelerates and pulls fine. Flats out at 2600 / 2800 rpm. EML on.
No smoke / leaks / misfiring etc
Passed MOT Monday 25 this week. 112000 miles (1500 miles from last MOT)
Fuel and air filters changed prior to MOT.
Checked connections / multi plugs in engine bay.
Had car from new so know it has'nt been messed with.
Don't have any diag kit only cheapo plugin which gives 0230 code as only fault.

If anyone could help greatly appreciated.

If I were you I'd get it hooked up to planet, that will give you a more in depth analysis of what is wrong.

P0230 Fuel Pump Primary Circuit Malfunction

It seems your fuel pump hasn't got enough ooomph to cope with demand at higher revs - I'm not sure of the cause though, may just be an electrical issue...??

Second hand pumps are available on eBay etc, and rebuild kits are also an option if you need to recondition your pump.

Has to be something the ecu can detect. I don't know but I'm guessing you wouldn't get this code with low rail pressure.
There's a solenoid to enable/disable the 3rd piston in the pump at low speeds, uses all 3 from about 2100 RPM up, IIRC. Maybe that's got disconnected / failed?

The 3rd piston connector is the orange one on top of the pump.

If your not a member of the 406 coupe club might be worth joining,
They have a pp2000 map showing people who have it.
There's our own Jonsnowman just outside Epsom & mpg66 near Edenbridge
Oh & mixman1 near Dover, Markw also travels to people but of course there is a charge for this.

Not too bothered at the mo, busy in the garage restoring a Yam 600 4 pot, keeping me occupied.
