a little extra oomph please

Post by annie »

i love the relaxed nature of the hdi 90 but would like a little low down torque. i dont want the most power possible just a good driveable punch at 2k rpm. is this an easy thing to do with programming or is it more involved .

thanks annie

Do you have a Siemens or a Bosch ECU, Annie?

You can simply pop the lid off the ECU box ( shiny one by the washer reservoir ) and slide the ECU up and out to see the label.

A Bosch is easier to map than the Siemens, although the Siemens isn't impossible.

I had a tuning box on my 90, which help to usher things along a bit - and you could also try to rest your foot on the clutch pedal ( just enough to take the slack ) and see if the car perks up a bit... :cheesy:

that looks perfect. just need to find the source of the water ingress before i start spending money on a remap. 120hp is plenty and a lot of extra torque

took her on a 600 mile round trip yesterday and she behaved faultless. 55mpg at 75mph all day long.

she will be remapped though by hdi bristol.. up a long steep climb she lost too much speed with 5up so the stage one 125hp with all that extra torque will be welcome. for the extra peace of mind and only an extra few pounds ill take it to them instead of doing it myself i think.. unless the post service is as easy as replugging in the ecu plug and play?
