I do apologise in advance that this story goes on and on. It seems absurd but I still haven't been able to have this resolved. I did find a pump in the Netherlands.. for €600!
I wonder if someone could have a look at this link and tell me if the pump is compatible with my car, nobody seems to really know.

This is driving me mad but without the driving part!

Apologies if this sounds like a lesson in egg sucking but when was the fuel filter last changed?
My 1.9 would hunt and rock a fair bit when cold if I ran veg oil, I realise you wouldn't (or shouldn't) be running veg through a lucas pump but a blocked fuel filter would probably have a similar effect.

never offended by advice!
It's not impossible that you're right though we had it tested on a 'proper' machine which told us the wires were corroded - had them sorted and now it won't do anything at all. The only answer now is to change the pump and since I'm no mechanic, I have to rely on others to advise. Happily, labour over here is fairly cheap but that doesn't help if there's nothing to labour on!

You need that pump^^^^^ if its a 2.1 (xud11) . There is a multi plug that connects the pump to the ECU and if you take the top cover off the pump you 'may' be able to test the connections etc....

Fitting a Bosch pump will work but you need the injectors and lines too. Not a quick job by any means but an experienced mechanic should be able to do it, especially one who knows Peugeot diesel engines well.
