Hopefully it does turn out to be a blocked radiator, will be the lesser of the possible problems.

I really hope so lads I've had to pay for a more expensive rad as it is because the one my LMF was quoted £46 for the supplier couldn't get to him until Friday.... I'm picking the more expensive one up at 11am... Wish I could just crack on with it now.

You're better off with the best rad you can afford, we had a cheap pattern part one years ago on a Van at work and it always ran too hot after.

I thought of this after I had been to the shop yesterday I joked with him and said your supplier can't get it until Friday because he's ordering a £20 Ebay special  .....Could be true too.

Nofuckingidea.... Only other thing it could be is a dodgy water pump which my mechanic replaced last August so he's going to investigate Saturday morning and also check my fan while it's there.
He thinks theres something not quite right over by the thermostat housing too so will strip that down.

There is still the pressure to be explained :frown:

I still think you have a small leak from the head gasket, but we'll see what they say when they look at the water pump.

Have a read of this....http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/ ... tm?t=48982

I've read that thread before and this bit sticks in my mind.
It's most likely the head gasket. Check:

1. Take the cap off cold - is there a release of pressure
2. Refit cap and start engine, run for about 1 minute, turn off and remove cap. Is there a release of pressure?
3. Restart engine with cap off and look into header tank - are there lots of little bubbles rising into it?

If the answer to any of the 3 above is yes, then 99% for sure the HG has gone.
Why is it that two sniff tests (one that i witnessed) have not picked the HG failure up?

^ headgaskets fail in different way's so a test might show nothing..

*what is the car actualy doing? (thread is long..so ihaven't read it all sorry.. )
is it overheating -boiling over?
throwing coolant out of the header tank?

Moar readage: http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/307 ... ult-21606/

Interestingly there someone mentions a fault with the water-cooled EGR assembly and the possibility of that pressurising the coolant with eggsauce gas.

 I've not read all that yet but i did spot someone say (Water cooled egr where fitted)
You know what? this has only happened since i blanked my EGR.... There is a warm pipe going in the EGR direction too that we've all overlooked when dicking about with it.

Lozz It has bubbles returning to the header tank when hot or cold so when the cap is on it's pressurising.

Oo-err, it kinda makes sense that you blank it off, eggsauce pressure rises on the 'blank' side and forces its way into the coolant.

If I'm right here you owe me a virtual beer my son :cheesy:
