Hey guys have a few questions if you can help me out. As this car has been previous owners I'm trying to narrow a few things down before it goes to the dealers in Santo Domingo next weekImage
Is there a way to tell that my engine is from a 2000 406? I am having second thoughts that maybe this motor was changed. As there are many parts that have been damaged but don't know if they effect the running much.
For ex
Image this is on top of the transmission and the shift linkage is attached to, looks as if it can be adjusted but someone has broke the plastic and i don't want to move it yet. and a connection is missing what is this for? sorry its dark power is out and don't have flashlight
Another is this
Image
Connected to probably coil packs but has been pinched and broken off. Maybe it's a ground block important?

Thanks for your help will get better pics if needed

Engine kinda looks like an XU - Inlet manifold/No engine cover

Not sure where the engine code stamp on the XU is or whether it has a stamp, but try looking around the ends particularly the cambelt end. But the easiest way is to find out is match your VIN number to the engine code to see what the original engine in your car was. Look out for the 6th, 7th and 8th digit in your vin and you should have three letters, i.e RFR. Yours should be RFR or RFN but the engine in the picture may be RFV.

Yup it's RFV in the Vin number in the windshield

Better photo as you can see something is missing but I can't find a plug anywhere. I am finding the kick down of gear changing very slow in happening , like the engine is lugging before it shifts down.

I haven't used servicebox in a while, but I suspect that you may be able to use it to look up (under 'characteristics'?) your engine's serial number. Can someone else check this?
