i think my 2003 2.0 hdi needs a new stat as it's taking about 10 miles to reach normal temp, anyone know which one is correct for my car reg: AK53 ENC
i looked on ebay and they seem to range from 83c to 89c, euro carparts say it's a 83c but i thought it was higher than that

If you want a nice warm heater for the winter and more efficient running for the winter then fit the 89 one
An all rounder is the 83.

The hotter the better, a engine is far more efficient when up to running temperature. My 2.0 HDi with 155k on the clock this averages 55-62 mpg.

looks like i was looking at the wrong stat, the correct stat is indeed a 83c which seem a bit on the cool side to me.
