Is the lift pump under the back seat priming
If not check the inertia cut off switch

Yeah, I ran my car with faulty glow plug relay for 3 years and it only had a little trouble starting in the winter.
In-tank pump would be my next step. Can you hear it whirring when you turn ignition on?

The inertia cut off switch is near the suspension leg
Passenger side, look near the battery,
Brown double relay, if its got one shouid be under the ECU cover drivers side
Cam side of engine,
Is the lift pump whirring when you put the ignition on.

Is this a Siemens or Bosch? The reason I ask is if it's a Siemens it doesn't have a lift pump.

Can you check whether you have fuel flowing to the injectors? Disconnect one of the return pipes and crank the engine - you should see fuel trickling out of there.
