You can gain half a tank of diesel just by dropping a few hundred revs?

That's pretty close considering yours is petrol-engined. 8)
I note the Scandanavian stealth buggy develops 320 Nm from 1500 - 4800 RPM, so should still be reasonably sprightly in top from about 60?
Mine doesn't really want to rub it in below 70 in 6th.

Yes is does pull well from low revs, it drives like a powerful Diesel and it very happy pootling around at 1500 rpm.

Where Diesel cars hit a bit of a 'wall' at higher speeds the Eastbourne's brake horse power comes into play and it keeps pushing on................and gives you 24mpg to say thanks :frown:

Whether the top speed's 140 or 150-odd doesn't seem terribly important in the overall scheme of things. :supafrisk:
I'm realistically expecting to see nearer 48mpg. :)

Having been banned for 6 months 11 years ago for a recorded 133mph  I can say top speed is not important, cause if you drive at more than 100mph on todays motorways your gonna get done it's just a matter of time :supafrisk: , & believe me cycling to work for 6 months throu the winter is no fun

Sorry Lou, my relative geography's a bit screwed up - didn't think of Accrington as 'local' to you.

Next time maybe?

Results in from the first brim to brim tankful - 711 miles / 68.8l = 46.9 mpg. 8)

This won't seem exceptional to you HDi owners, but for a remapped 2.2 that's been 'exercised' a little, it's pretty impressive.
The original dogmobile tended to get refueled after 620 - 650 miles, yesterday morning, I'd clocked up 645, with a predicted range of 93 miles, so enough for a 'free' 60 mile round trip to work. Getting > 10 miles / litre is new too. :D

Obvious question; based on before and after MPG, what is the break even point for the gear box?
