What is the brand of that oversized comp head gasket you told me about?

Cos...????

Where can I get them from, and where can I get some ARP headbolts?

Cheers!

the gasket is made by Cometic,

can get it from most pug tuners hiflow/longmans/205parts/QEP

these will most likely be able to supply you with the arp bolts too. Although i have never heard a need for arp headbolts on an xu before, its common for conrod bolts though (only in high revving 8k+ apps though)

youll need the 86mm bore gasket,

Cheers Matey,

I understand they are 86mm but are they the thicker gaskets with copper pipe or bar cyilinder cores?

yep you can basically get any sort you want, cometic make copper/kevlar/horsehair gaskets in pretty much any thickness you request too

go here
http://www.cometic.com/catalogs/AutoCat04.pdf

thats the auto cat

have a browse through page 30 has the xu10 gaskets they are Multi Layer Steel listed in the catalogues but i am certain you can get others, my friend has a kevlar one on his 205tt
Although that is alloy head > alloy block with liners
cometic wrote: MLS (Multi Layer Steel)
The Cometic MLS gasket is comprised of three layers of
Stainless Steel. Cometic uses Stainless steel for increased
strength, it’s ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The
outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both
sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (Viton)
designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing
environments, load conditions and surface finishes. The Viton
coating is heat resistant to 2500C or 4820F.
The center or shim layer of the gasket is comprised of an
uncoated Stainless Steel layer, which can be varied to
accommodate multiple thickness requirements. The MLS
gasket is ideal for both aluminum heads to cast iron blocks and
aluminum heads to aluminum blocks.
The composition of MLS will also withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. No re-torque is necessary. By design the MLS gasket promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface allowing for less clamping force and meaning a measurable reduction in bore distortion.
Available thickness: .027", .030", .036", .040", .045", .051", .060", .065", .071", .074", .120"

Well called all of them...

QEP were a great help, and the lady that answered the phone sounded so sexy... she was ever so helpful and polite ! They are emailing me a quote later today :cheesy:

As for the other three, called them only HFH didn't answer and the others couldn't help me, apparently Longmans use Peugeot Sport gaskets for their race tuned engine, @ a cost of about £500 per gasket ! w0w ! !

But QEP have my vote, just waiting on their response !
