Will an engine ECU from a 406 with siemens injectors fit into a engine with bosch injectors ?

Or the injection system as nothing to do with it ?

I don't think it's possible either. Fairly sure the Siemens system includes their ECU too.

Timing / fueling wouid be way out,
iwouid guess,

as the Hdi pump isnt timed it wouid rely on the ecu, wouidnt it?

Well, my engine ecu doesn't have nothing wrong in particular, but it's a " basic ecu " which don't have configuration options and have a lot of problems communicating with computers, i'm in the quest to find a ecu which have this configuration menu( i know one, my friend's, but he's have siemens injectors but still bosch engine ecu, that's why i opened this topic).

Can anyone here that have cruise control and have bosch injectors on a pre multiplex system (99-01) which the turn On button is on the dashboard, if you can take a look at the engine ECU reference, please.

thank you, for your replys.

Didn't think 110's came with Siemens ECU's?

My 90 is siemens but I so wish it was bosch! Parts are far easier to find and it wouldn't cost me over £250 to get remapped.

sorry i think my post/thread is all wrong, i didn't meant engine ecu, the injectors system that my friend have is from siemens, he's engine ecu is still bosch, hence why i opened this topic, let's say:

I unlock and code he's ecu to my car.

BUT, my car have bosch injectors ... will this result in permanent damage to my engine or the engine ecu recognise the injectors that is fitted ?

thank you, for your feedback.

but its a bit of a hike, chap is based in preston,

hes done 2 remaps for us and have had no problems,

first one he charged £150, 2nd one £80

People with GTX spec cars saloon or estate from year 99-01 ( pre multiplex ) with bosch injectors that have cruise control, please can you put your engine ecu part number here ?

thank you

No thanks Lozz, going to a company in Bristol who I've been reccomended who will take it upto ~130bhp if I want it.

And I'd be very supprised if your mate does have Siemens injectors on a bosch ECU. If so I reckon they've been replaced with the wrong ones previously.
I think your car personally is just being french.

I have Siemens injectors and a siemens ECU.

Also you can't just replace the ECU. You have to replace the BSI and a few other computers too.

Hold on, if the reason you want to do this is so you can enable cruise, as far as I can see fitting cruise to a semi-mux D9 is the same as a D8 - you'll need switches, ecu, vacuum pump & actuator, there's nothing you need to do to the engine ecu.

There's a How To over on the coupe club's How To guides.

Beg to differ, steve.

All Hdi's with cruise work via the engine ecu, no actuators etc, (but you do need the switches & so on). The problem Rayne has is that Bosch EDC15 ecu's fitted to HDi's for the first couple of years didn't have a c/c option, it was introduced around 2000. Search wasp's posts on the subject.

Ahh, all is clear, sorry - the car it was done to on the coupe club is a V6. Now I know what this thread is about

hmm, i do appreciate your replys, which is why i like so much this forum, because you have a lot of experience with 406 and so on.

but, since my 406 is from May 2000 and came with cruise pre installed ( cables/sockets for On/Off button and Stalk and switches on pedals ), so back in this time there must have been an ECU which had cruise control am i thinking right here ?

My engine part number ends in 166 , my friend's ends in 248 ( 2000 August ), and i see some other parts on ebay which could fit also into my car, parts which some ends with part no. 165, 252, 250, 363, 370,5xx,(6xx these are 3 plug unit, MultiPlex ones).

I think that the highest is the last 3 digits the newer it is, right ?

So if i pick up one that ends in 363, i'm good to go ?

Thank you

Wish I could answer your question, but don't know.

I wonder if your car had a replacement ecu at some point, either a second-hand one from an older car, or perhaps it was never set up correctly?
